"Meet My Villain" - A Blog Hop

So, from what I hear, this is a contest and it's run by Erin Latimer [found HERE] and I can enter. I was tagged by my friend Katrin to do this so... Let's get our posting on, yeah?

I must've debated the lucky character for about three hours after I heard about this. For reasons, I can't do this blog on the villain of Clinker Girl... too many factors involved AND spoilers for just about everyone, save the two people who I've told the story to.

So then I thought about God-Slaying Machine. But no one really reads that. And, not to mention, the entire story is one morally-grey area. People seem evil and then they seem good and really, the only real antag so far was Rose Summers... and she died. Hell, even Miyako, the main character, is bad. Everything is one confusing mess of who is good and who is bad. It's not because I'm dumb, though. I put a lot of thought into this.

But we're not here to talk about God-Slaying Machine. We'll save that for another blog post.

We're here to talk about our lucky antagonist, Ruskal Oberon.

Ruskal Oberon is the Angel King in my novel, The Last Nephilim. Aciel, one of the main characters, is his daughter and is thrown into an elaborate scheme of his concoction against her will. She spends most of the story in hiding. Most of you know who she is shown as, but for those that don't, I won't spoil the surprise.

And now the fun part. I get to talk about Ruskal!

1) What is the name of your villain?

Ruskal Oberon, King of the Angels

2) What motivates him?

Depends on when you asked him. Chaos drives him, nowadays. Though, believe it or not, it wasn't that far long ago where his love for God drove him forward. Now, that devotion no longer exists, having been taken over by his love for disorder. He has what us earthlings would call "Batman Syndrome"... He loves putting everyone in danger just to save them from it, and the situation he puts his own daughter into is a fine example of such.

3) What is his relation to your main character?

With the main main character, not much. I mean, the opposing King of Tital is the father of the MC. But that's about as far as he knows about Gideon. With Karma, he knows even less. Fenrick, close to nothing. Aciel, however, is his own daughter, so there's that.

4) What is your villain's main fear? What is his weakness?

He fears losing control. More than that, he knows the stakes against him. He's afraid of how easily someone could ruin him.

Ruskal's greatest weakness is also his greatest ability, that of being able to lie and hide it all so well. He lives in constant paranoia and fear, mostly of God above. He knows his roots and that he's turned his back on them, and while he doesn't care about that, he fears the repercussions this will have on him.

5) What is their greatest strength?

His ability to lie, and his uncanny knack for staying calm in high-stress situations.

6) Does your villain have any romantic entanglements?

He used to, but not currently... Except maybe to chocolate.

7) List one random fact about your villain

He loves chocolate. Really, it's an unhealthy obsession.

Ruskal also once had a fling with a Fae.

I really don't know who to tag next for this... Anyway. Yeah. That's Ruskal in a nutshell. Enjoy!

Up next... MAYBE a feature on God-Slaying Machine

Creatures of the Forest

Another blog post, this time advertising the blogs and stories of a few of my friends. So... Not much else to say. Let's begin.

Reina (CaptainDecus)

Reina writes twisted horror, fantasy, and dabbles in Historical Fiction. She was one of those avid fans who's continued to stay and interact with me. I'd recommend Khaos or Fool's Gold on Wattpad if you want to read her work. FG is about pirates!

Katrin (KatrinHollister)

I look up to Katrin for writing advice and also for great stories. Her specialty is fantasy, and it shows. My favorite story of hers is The Windcaster, and she has another story, Rise of the Vengeful Dragon. I have yet to read the latter, but The Windcaster is definitely worth the look. Both stories can be found on Wattpad. She also makes delectable cakes that look drool-worthy. Recipes can be found on her blog, as well as info on frogs!

I shall return eventually with more blogs to share... as well as more story plans and book reviews. Stay tuned!

Write, Write, and Write Some More

Greetings, readers. It's been a while since I've posted anything and I have some things that need to be covered. So I'll cover all my stories and the timeline I've set myself right now... let's begin.

The Last Nephilim

Still working on rewriting this one, although the process has slowed considerably. Now that it's summer for me, I have more time on my hands... which means more writing time, maybe. However, as of this moment, TLN isn't that high on my list of priorities.

Which leads me to...

Clinker Girl

You'll be happy to know that I'm working on this story. As it stands, CG has a basic outline (one that I will most likely stray from) of what will happen and who dies and everything. I know how I want this story to end. Additionally, I plan for it to be a two-book series. The second book's outline is almost done. More details will be released after CG is done.

Other novels

If you've noticed my Wattpad page, you'll see that I've had a couple other projects: Project Imitation, The Phantom's Bones, and Polaris.

Polaris, I'm sad to say, is getting deleted. I've lost nearly all motivation for it and honestly, I don't know where to end it. Besides, Fantasy and poetry has always been my forte, not Teen Fiction.

Project Imitation is also getting deleted, but for another reason... one that will be revealed later on in this post.

The Phantom's Bones is going to have REALLY slow updates. It's a bit different than what I normally write. It's more dark and lots of confusing things happen in the story that won't make sense unless you can piece things together. But that's how it's meant to be. It's meant to make the reader think.

So where does this lead me?

A timeline, of course.

Now - June 30th

I'm going to do what I can with CG and with the TLN rewrite. There probably won't be a TPB update in this time period, but I don't know. I also plan to finish my first leg of beta-reading for Rebecca Sky in this time.

July 1st - July 31st

This is Camp NaNo. The second leg of it, to be exact. I plan to take part, and what WAS Project Imitation is going to be worked on. It's going to have a different title and a lot is going to be tweaked, but it is was PI was... sort of.

The only thing is that this story WILL NOT be posted on Wattpad. Small excerpts will be, of course. But I am not posting the entire story. As I've been looking into publishing and writing in general, I've decided to become more serious about the things I do. Wattpad is a great stepping stone and all, but...

That is a story for a different time.

Anyhow, most story updates will be put on hold until Camp NaNo ends.

August 1st - September... something

In this time I hope to finish CG and the TLN rewrite. This is before school starts for me again, so I want to get as much as I can done. This is still in the far future, though, so nothing is set in stone yet.

NaNoWriMo (Probably November)

By this time, Clinker Girl will be done and so will The Last Nephilim. I still haven't decided which sequel will be written for NaNo, but I think it'd be best to start Clinker's sequel right away. Hence, CG's sequel will most likely be my NaNo project.

This is all I have for news for the time being, guys. Stay tuned!

Slight Edification [More Writing Plans]

So I've done some thinking in the past couple of days, and especially after the blog post yesterday, and I changed my mind about Camp NaNo.

I mean, I'm still going to do it. That much is certain... and I'm doing both of them. I realized that I can't finish a story rewrite in eight days AND make it look good. Not to mention that I have other writing projects to take care of as well...

And so, here's a more detailed outline of my upcoming writing plans, until about... August.

MARCH 24th-31st

In this time period, which is from tomorrow to next Monday, I'm going to work on knocking out as much of The Last Nephilim as I can... though due to procrastination, not much will probably be achieved. Hooray for procrastination. Oh, and having a life.

And when I'm not doing TLN or having a life, I'm going to keep trying to write Clinker Girl. I have a LOT of plans for that story.

THE ENTIRE MONTH OF APRIL (April 1st-April 30th)

Cue the suspense music.

This is Camp NaNoWriMo, the thing that's like the actual NaNoWriMo but more.... lax. It's in this span of time that, for the most part, I'm going to be working on a novella. Contrary to earlier statements, no, I am not working on the sequel to TLN. That will take a while before I can get to it.

Now, when I'm not working on the Novella for Camp NaNo, I will be working where I can on the TLN rewrite and on Clinker Girl... I have a long way to go with CG. But my primary focus will be, aside from school, trained on the Novella... which is currently title-less.

MAY 1st- MAY 31st OR JUNE 30th (depends on circumstances)

By then, the rewrite should be done and my novella should be complete, and so my focus here will be trained on finishing Clinker Girl and Polaris, a novel I had put down a while ago... If I do finish them both, then I will either set to work on rewriting the novella. Also, I will be looking for editors for TLN.

Also, if the second Camp NaNo is in June, then these plans will halt then... and if it's in July, then I'll have more time.

JUNE 1st-30th OR JULY 1ST-31st

And finally, HERE is where I will work on the sequel for The Last Nephilim, A Nephilic King... My goal for this is 60K by the end of the month so...

If this is held in June, then July will probably be a month off for me. If it's in July... then I don't know. I'll probably have a new story idea by the time July is over.

As for anything else past this time frame... I am currently unsure of. This is all I have planned as of right now.

Well, that's all the updates for right now... Stay tuned for more stories from the Imagination Forest.

Who follows a calendar anymore? [Upcoming Writing Plans]

So... coming up in April is Camp NaNo. Which means that I need to finish the rewrite of The Last Nephilim soon and finish it. Ugh. Time to start cramming.
So many words. Ugh.

I mention Camp NaNo cause I'm going to be in it! I'm doing TLN's sequel, A Nephilic King, for the event... and I hope to have sixty thousand words for it done by the time that it ends. That would be great.

I need to work on making my novels longer.... hmm...

After Camp NaNo is over, I'll probably finish ANK, if it needs to be finished. If not, I'll set to work on finishing Clinker Girl, and then from there finish my teen fiction story, Polaris.

In the meantime, if any readers want to see TLN as I have it right now, there will be a link below.

That's all I have right now from the Imagination Forest. Til' next time!

First posts are always awkward...

It seems a lot of published authors have a blog, and I hope to one day be a published author and so here I am, with a blog.

Hi there. I'm Tiara. I'm an author, future psychologist and somewhat of a story critic. I don't critique too often though.

Currently I have a novel in the middle of being edited...I hope to get it published in the next two years or so. I've been adding more details to it and I want to get more feedback on it before I do anything... There's also a new website I found today where people can rank your story and high rankings can attract publishers.... once I'm good enough, I want to try that.

But anyhow... I guess that's all I've got for now.
